Develop on your feet and on the ground martial skills. Men and women. Sessions: 8 Dates: January 23, 2012 through March 19, 2012 Meeting Time: Mondays, 7pm to 8pm Place: The Morgan School, Clinton, CT Instructor: Stephen Watson SIGN UP HERE MEDITATION AND CONTEMPLATION This two-part class first releases the mind and then engages the mind. Using tools from Buddhist, Vedic, and Taoist traditions, students practice mudras, chanting, meditation, and gentle, flowing movements designed to exercise the body, open the heart, and discover the spirit. The first portion of the class uses Tai Chi and yoga-derived motions together with traditional qigong to find, feel, and flow with our breath. In the second half, we gather in seated postures (often over tea) and concentrate our mind on improving ourselves, and through this improvement, our families, work and the world. We do, in fact (with the help of profound homework assignments) get to be the change we wish to see in others . Classes are ongoing; students may wish to enroll for continuing lessons.
